Designer Spotlight-Vince Camuto

Watching the leaves fall from the trees today in KL put me in the fall mood.  Boy, do I wish the weather would get into the fall mood!  As I’ve mentioned before, KL is hot and humid all year round with no chance of cooler weather or a change in seasons.  The closest we get to the change of seasons is the rainy season and the non-rainy season, which I still have yet to distinguish.  So being in the fall mood, I put on my fur vest and played dress-up a bit today for my PLAY style.  I know I probably won’t get much use out of this vest living in KL, but hopefully someday soon…especially with fur vests being one of the hottest fashion trends this fall!  This particular faux fur vest I’m wearing is a Vince Camuto and I’m featuring it in today’s Designer Spotlight.

When reading more about Vince Camuto I had no idea that he co-founded the Nine West Group Inc. in 1978, and served as their creative director.  So for over thirty years, Vince Camuto has been providing women with luxurious and affordable footwear.  In 2001, the Camuto Group was established, which provides design, sourcing, marketing and production services to over 5,400 retailers in the world!  Some other facts that surprised me were the fact that he partnered with Tory Burch to launch her footwear collection and actually collaborated with her to create her famous “Reva” ballet flat.  Currently, he’s busy working with Jessica Simpson on her collection, after purchasing the master license for Jessica Simpson in 2005.  But not only is Vince Camuto famous for his footwear and services, his brand includes handbags, jewelry and accessories, a new fragrance and of course clothing…which includes my fur vest.  I believe when wearing a fur vest, you should look chic and classy, but also casual and simple.  This means keeping your accessories to a minimum and your ensemble very simple.  So here I’m wearing jeans and a simple shirt, but this fur vest would also look super cute added to a mid-length dress with high boots or ankle booties.  Remember that fur vests can keep you warm and also look a bit bulky, so wear thin layers to maintain a nice silhouette.  So if you are looking to add a piece to your fall wardrobe, check out some of my favorite fur vests below.
