Designer Spotlight-Betsey Johnson

When I think Betsey Johnson, I think fun, flirty and full of color and that is exactly what I got in these Betsey Johnson sandals!  With childhood aspirations of being a dancer and her love of costumes, Betsey Johnson laid the foundation for her feminine, flirty and some say “over the top” designs.  She began her career in the fashion world in the 60s and by 1978 was starting her own fashion line.  Today, she has more than 65 stores worldwide and has even been inducted into the Fashion Walk of Fame.  She’s also a strong advocate in the fight against breast cancer, as she won the battle with the disease herself.  Each year, she continues to support the cause by hosting events in her boutiques across the world, along with creating limited edition products and donating the proceeds to various breast cancer charities.  My favorite quote of Betsey was found on her website, “If Betsey Johnson didn’t exist, we would have to invent her, simply to remind ourselves that fashion can be fun.  She’s the original wild child and set to paint the town pink!”  I regularly enjoy visiting the whimsical world that is Betsey Johnson; she’s definitely one of a kind!
