Runway HERE I COME!

On my coffee table sits a stack of about 12 magazines that I need to read.  With all this reading and browsing that I still have to do, you would think the urge to buy more magazines would subside.  However, this is not the case and each time I’m at the grocery store, I find myself inching towards the magazine stand checking out what’s new on the rack.  I guess it’s an obsession, but I just love to flip through the pages and look at the fashion!  It’s amazing how I really get excited about my magazines…they just make me happy!  The best is when I have finished all my cleaning around the house or completed all my errands for the day and I have some free time to just sit on the couch and peruse my InStyle magazine.  It’s like the best part of the day.  I know, it may sound crazy, but it’s just like going to my “happy place”…a place where I can phase out the rest of the world and pretend that maybe I’m on a runway strutting myself wearing all the new styles of the fashion season.  Then as I’m off in my daydream, I’m soon interrupted either by the sound of my husband screaming at the T.V. (watching sports) or a motorcycle backfiring off the streets here in KL.  Oh well, it was a nice few minutes.  But now I have learned that we don’t all have to be daydreaming to dress in fancy clothes or pretend we are on the runway in a fashion show…we can actually live this as a reality.  And this is all due to a little website called “Rent the Runway“.  Started in 2010, this site allows online members to browse through pages and pages of dresses and accessories creating a dream outfit and then signing up to rent this ensemble for their next special event…you just pick the date on the calendar and it comes to you in the mail!  Return shipping is free and the site even takes care of the dry cleaning bill.  Plus, you receive a backup size absolutely free AND you can order a second style for just $25 extra!  The dresses are available from over 95 different designers and offered in 16 different color options.  It’s actually an amazing concept!  So I thought, what the heck, let’s try this out.  So here is the dress that I ordered below.  I will go through the process and let you all know how it goes.  Keep following along…Runway HERE I COME!

Okay, so I picked out this dress and was ready to go, but unfortunately was unable to get the dress shipped to me since I am outside the States.  Boo Hoo!  The turn around time for sending back the dress would be an issue if someone else was waiting for it.  Oh well!  Customer Service was really great on the phone, however…I spoke to Emily who couldn’t have been any nicer!  So please check out this site and maybe you can rent a dress and tell me about your experience.  I would love to hear it!  I guess my runway will have to wait…
