Designer Spotlight-J Brand

I originally spotted these J Brand jeans on the pages of a style magazine and instantly fell in love with them.  Thus started an obsession to find these J Brand jeans that morphed into a quest to ensure their spot in my closet.  Living here in Malaysia, it’s hard to receive some shipments of clothing when purchased online.  Most places won’t ship here and others, if they do ship, it takes forever.  So after waiting for 44 days after buying these jeans online, I received them and finally realized it was a little too hot here in Malaysia the day I decided to wear them with my new J Brand cotton shirt.  Oh well, I still love them and supposedly so do many other people in the world!  The company, J Brand has grown tremendously since it was founded in 2004.  Jeff Rudes, the CEO and co-founder, wanted a jean that “fit so perfectly it followed the contours of one’s body.”  In 2005, he launched J Brand as an exclusive line at Ron Herman’s Melrose jean bar and it became an immediate success.  J Brand became the first company to drive the trend of the dark washed skinny jean!  Rudes later stated, “In an exceedingly competitive market, one of our greatest accomplishments was to go beyond what we were known for, the skinny jean, and deliver the next trend – the bell bottom we called the ‘Love Story’.”  J Brand can be purchased in over 2000 specialty stores and luxury retailers, not to mention in over 20 countries worldwide.  Thanks J Brand for introducing the world to such a great fitting jean.

So although I am highlighting J Brand in this week’s Designer Spotlight, I had to highlight this cute fedora as well.  Mine was bought right here in Malaysia in Melaka, to be exact.  But you can buy some really cute ones on line as well.  Here are some of my favorites below, if you haven’t had a chance to already purchase a cute one for this summer.  Hurry, fall weather will be here before you know it!
