If the shoe fits…

This past weekend I came across an article detailing a new pair of shoes designed by Christian Louboutin!  Yes, my favorite shoe designer, as you may know from my many posts on CL and of course from my SHOE SIGHTS page, has unveiled a NEW pair of shoes inspired by none other than…Cinderella.  A glass slipper?  Well, close enough!  Using tulle and lace to mimic the look of glass, these shoes are something right out of a fairy tale.  Not only is the shoe covered in lace, but the entire heel is covered in Swarovski crystals!  But wait, that’s not even the best part…Christian Louboutin took these fairy tale heels one step further and adorned them with butterflies on the front and back of the shoe.  He added these twinkling butterflies because during the design process he imagined “a modern-day Cinderella tending to her chores and the delicate creature landing on her”.  So the big question is…are we able to purchase these amazing works of fairy tale imagination come true?  Unfortunately, they will not be mass produced.  However, 20 pairs of Louboutin’s glass slipper will be given away worldwide this fall…turning “anyone into a modern day Cinderella”!!!  The details of this giveaway will be announced August 17th…so stay tuned!  Bibbidi…Bobbidi…Boo!
