Here’s to a new week!

If you happened to read last week’s post than you are probably wondering what exactly happened to me last week.  Boy, was it a bad one!  It all started earlier in the week when I was playing with my adorable puppy.  We were rolling around on the floor, me laughing, her little tail wagging as she was jumping on me and licking me.  Unfortunately the licking turned into nipping and she got her tooth caught in my nose/nostril and when I jumped up and realized what happened, I heard a snap.  Needless to say, my nose was a bit bloody and cut up, but luckily I made it to the doctor’s office that evening.  A couple days later I returned to the doctor where I endured one of most painful shots I’ve had (directly into my nostril) and after a few stitches I was on my way home.  But there’s more…

A couple hours after returning home, I was in the kitchen doing some dishes.  After cleaning a couple pots, I started cleaning a very sharp knife carefully with some soap and hot water.  This particular knife already scares me since it’s cut my husband once already and has turned a few sponges into smithereens.  So while cleaning the knife, I don’t know if I lost grip of the handle or grip of the sponge, but the knife slipped and long story short, I was back in the doctor’s office again that day!  After seven stitches, minor nerve damage (that was luckily repaired) and an even worse shot than earlier in the morning, I left the office covered in bandages.  Wow, what a day!  Even after cutting myself with the knife, I just stood over the sink staring at the cut saying outload to myself, “You’ve got to be kidding me!”

So after a weekend of resting, watching old episodes of “Wings”, eating plenty of junk food and realizing how hard it is not to use your pointer finger on your dominant hand, I’m glad a new week is here.  Here’s hoping that I’m on a fast road to recovery and my face and finger won’t be too badly scarred.  To be honest, it could have been a lot worse.  The only thing that made it harder was not being near my family.  Thank goodness for Skype and Vonage!

So that’s the story.  Lessons learned:  DON’T put your face in a puppy’s face when it’s in play mode.  (Oh, poor Lucu…I could never be mad at you.)  And DO be extra careful when handling a sharp knife.

I hope you had a great weekend and enjoy your Monday.  Thanks so much for following along.  I will leave you today with an extra cute picture of Lucu.  As I’m typing this, she’s lying next to my feet dreaming…her feet twitching while she’s quitely yapping.  It sounds like a hiccup, but I think she’s barking in her dream.  How could I ever be upset with her?!  Even if my nose does look a little funny now.  😉
