Travel-Bangkok, Grand Palace

Asia is known for some of the most amazing temples in the world.  My husband and I luckily have had the opportunity to see many of these temples while living here in Malaysia.  Some that I have posted about are here, but there are many more travel adventures to come.  During our trip to Bangkok, there was one special temple visit on our list – the Grand Palace.  Built in 1782, the Grand Palace is undoubtedly the city’s most famous landmark.  Once you enter the palace complex, you are amazed by the beautiful architecture, towering columns and intricate detail of the craftsmanship of the Thai people.  Within the walls, the Grand Palace grounds house the royal residence, throne halls, many government buildings and the majestic Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew.

So we jumped on a water taxi to take us down the Chao Phraya River towards the entrance of the Grand Palace.

And last, but certainly not least…the Emerald Buddha.
