Spotted-Rainbows

While living in the tropical climate of Malaysia, my Rainbow flip-flops were a weekend necessity so I had to make them part of MY ONE HUNDRED.  Not only are they the most comfortable pair of flip-flops I have ever owned, but their neutral color went well with every casual style!  Now living in Hong Kong, I have yet to bring my Rainbows out to play, but look forward to wearing them around the city this summer.  Below are some pictures from previous posts highlighting how I have styled my Rainbows in the past.  Do you have a favorite summer flip-flop?  Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Beyond the Polka Dots

Beyond the polka dots the sky was grey and smoggy, but I had a smile on my face and the song “Pretty Woman” playing in my head.  Whenever I put on my brown and white polka dot skirt it reminds me of that scene in the movie when Julia Roberts wears her brown and white polka dot dress to the horse race.  Today, I paired my skirt with a soft lace blouse and some heels as I was…”walking down the street….Oh, Pretty Woman!”

Walk About Wan Chai

Walking around our neighborhood of Wan Chai this past Sunday, we took along the camera to capture some of the local scenery right near our house.  As we walked down the hill towards the main strip, we took a side street, which we have named our “weekend walk” and here are some of the pics we took…

To the right of me in this picture the street is lined with auto part shops, a watch shop, a school, a meat market and this one shop – my favorite.  It seems to have just about everything from fan parts to old wooden golf clubs.  The owner sits out in front on the weekends in his chair in front of his old T.V. and works on gadgets.

As you move further down Stone Nullah Lane in Wan Chai, you come to the Blue House.  The Blue House is a historic four storey building in Wan Chai…one of the few remaining examples of Tong Lau (tenement structure built in the late 19th centry to the 1960s).  All the upper floors of the Blue House are timber structures and have been well preserved during the restoration project completed in 2011.

Just a quick glimpse into one part of our neighborhood.  I hope you have a great day!
