Sunday Casual

Yesterday my hubby, Lucu and I went out for lunch and then took a casual Sunday strool through our neighborhood of Wan Chai (more on that later).  I started the afternoon in my heels, but finished the day in my Tieks since flats are a must when spending a long day walking around Hong Kong.  Hope you had a nice weekend.  Happy Monday!

Spotted-Quaint Sweater Set

I wish I would have been able to take today’s pictures sitting on a blanket in a meadow full of sunflowers while in a sundress drinking a glass of sweet tea soaking in the sun and beautiful blue sky with the smell of Spring flowers in the air…it would have been the perfect scene for wearing my quaint sweater set.  But instead I was in the city on a cloudy day dressed for a WORK style with the smell of incense and noodles in the air…not as quaint as my sweater set, ha!  Regardless of where you are or how you style it, a sweater set is a must in your closet for a classic look.  It’s great for brunch on the weekends with a skater skirt, perfect with pearls and a pair of dress pants for a meeting and even better with a soft floral sundress for a day in the sunflowers.  Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Travel-USS Missouri, Hawaii

When visiting the island of Oahu, the USS Missouri is a must-see.  Stepping aboard this massive ship, I was in awe of its size, its capability and its historical significance.  Visiting on a rainy morning definitely set the tone for our tour.  Here’s a look into this amazing battleship, the USS Missouri.

Walking along the decks, we were able to see how the ship functioned by peering into the Captain’s bridge, the communication room and observe some of its powerful, impressive armaments.

A special spot we walked by was the spot where the Japanese surrendered to the Allied forces in 1945 ending the War in the Pacific.  (I thought I got a picture, but I can’t seem to find it…click here if interested.)

Of course taking my Loubous aboard…just as a rainbow came out!  A FULL RAINBOW!

Going below deck we toured the mess halls, the Truman line, the dentist office and even the narrow bunks that the sailors used to hot bed.

Walking through the museum part of the ship left a sadness in my heart for all the young men and women that have given their lives for our country.  It was a wonderful experience visiting this amazing ship…one I will never forget.
