Spotted-Men’s Tie

Whether it’s featured in the Ralph Lauren Collection Runway (my favorites here, here, here and here), on some of my favorite episodes of Gossip Girl (during and after school), or on the red carpet, women enjoy wearing men’s ties and they look hot!  I personally love finding new ways to wear men’s ties (see some of my favorite looks from past posts below).  Today, I wore a men’s tie, number 58 of MY ONE HUNDRED, the way it’s meant to be worn and even added one of hubby’s tie clips.  I felt very professional, cute and super feminine at the same time.  Ties aren’t meant for just men anymore…leave it to us ladies to make them look even better!

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Travel-Hong Kong, Hiking in the New Territories

Hiking is a very popular activity in Hong Kong.  You would never think it, but Hong Kong is covered with natural parks, beaches, mountains and tons of hiking trails.  Not only is hiking a great form of exercise, but it’s a wonderful escape from the city.  This past weekend we ventured north of Hong Kong Island to the New Territories and explored another section of Hong Kong.

hike1

The hiking trail started out pretty high up in the mountains.  This was our first shot looking out at the landscape.  This body of water is a natural reservoir created by damning off two sections of the South China Sea.

Continuing along our hike…

Passing through a little “town”.

hike2

Approaching our first stop at the beach.

hike5

It was a beautiful stop to make.  Surfers were trying their luck at a few waves.

hike14

Sadly, the beaches along this path were heavily polluted with trash…it was heartbreaking.  We were told that the trash is washed up on the beaches from mainland China.

hike6

Pressing on, we viewed the steep path ahead as we made our way to the next beach.

hike15

Visitors crossing the paths…these cows were everywhere!  They live peacefully in the park.

Our lunch stop…in the middle of nowhere, literally!  But they still managed to have amazing vegetable fried rice…only in Asia!

hike11hike12

After climbing over 300 cement stairs on our path back towards home, this was our view.  Hong Kong you surprise me more and more each day.

Have a great Thursday!

Finishing off with Sangiovese

Today was a very long day filled with lots of cleaning, laundry and more cleaning…I’m definitely deserving of a nice glass of wine.  I’m dreaming of days spent in California (posted about here, here and here) when my mom, sister and I enjoyed a wonderful wine tour through the Temecula vineyards.  One of our favorite wines tasted was a Sangiovese – a beautifully, smooth Italian red wine.  Today’s DAY style of burgundy and navy hues was inspired by my thoughts of ending my day with a nice sip of Sangiovese!  Yes, we found a bottle right here in Hong Kong!

Have a great Wednesday as I am off to finish mine.
