Lace and Checks

For this week’s DAY style, I paired my comfy checked vest and my comfy boots with a lace blouse and some lacy shorts…dressing up a dressed-down style.

My favorite holiday pattern

With the holiday season in full swing, I have found myself breaking out the plaid in more ways than one, as you may have seen from my past holiday plaid posts – here, here and here.  And just wait…more plaid will definitely be styled this week!  What a great pattern to wear during the holiday season…it just makes me feel full of Christmas spirit!  Have a great Monday!

Spotted-Maxi Dress/Skirt

Whether you are grocery shopping on the weekends or heading off to a romantic dinner on the beach, maxi dresses and skirts are an essential item in the summer time.  I especially love pairing mine with a big floppy hat, my Rainbows and a denim jacket.  But just because this essential item is a great style for the summer, doesn’t mean it can’t transition into the cooler months of the year.  Maxi dresses and skirts are a mix of ease, comfort and glamour!  You can dress them up or down – wear them with a collared shirt and a leather jacket or a sweater and a jean jacket (as I styled below).  Plus, they are great item to take on travel while layering with other pieces of clothing.  So Happy Monday…I hope you enjoy today’s DAY style and number 56 of MY ONE HUNDRED – Maxi Dress.

One tip:  When wearing your favorite maxi dress or skirt, do make sure to keep your top fitted, especially if you have a flowy or pleated maxi.  This will create a more stylish and slimming silhouette.
