Spotted-Inspiration Binder

Regardless of your personal fashion and style, I believe that everyone needs a bit of inspiration.  My fashion and style inspiration comes for a variety of different places…television, people walking down the street, other fashion bloggers, but my favorite inspiration is gathered from magazines.  While flipping through the pages, I fall in love with the color palettes, patterns, the creation of an ensemble and find myself ripping out most of the magazine to add into my fashion binder…my own personal hard copy of a fashion Pinterest board!  My collection of magazine clippings have grown so much in fact, that my sister bought me a beautiful leather binder, imprinted with my initials, to keep all my inspiration together in one spot.  This inspiration binder not only is just fun to look through on a rainy day, but it keeps me inspired and excited about style and creating new looks each season.  For this reason, I have added Inspiration Binder to My One Hundred list, in addition to sharing with you a DAY style inspired by a new page in my fashion binder.  I found this clipping from the September issue of Instyle magazine…the look inspired me to create a similar, comfortable and casual look to sport over the weekend.  Ah, what a great style icon…Lauren Hutton!
Hopefully I have inspired you to create your own Inspiration Binder.  Have a great weekend…now go out and get inspired!

Designer Spotlight-Vera Bradley

It has definitely been a while since my last Wednesday Designer Spotlight post.  So it’s about time I posted a new one…so here goes…

While at home in the States this summer I picked up this cute Vera Bradley cross-body bag, my first Vera Bradley purchase!  Recently, I have gotten a lot of use out of this cutie, especially while exploring Hong Kong.  To be honest, I never really understood the fascination with Vera Bradley bags and always thought the patterns looked like patchwork diaper bags, ha!  But after seeing this pattern in their Florida shop, I suddenly changed my mind and jumped on the Vera Bradley bandwagon.  So today, I decided to include Vera Bradley to the many list of designers in my Designer Spotlight series!  Did you know that the Vera Bradley company was started over 30 years ago when two neighbors were vacationing together and noticed a lack of feminine-looking luggage?  With 500 dollars and a great idea, they began creating luggage and bags in several sizes and styles, as well as many different patterns and colors.  Within three years, the company (named after one of the founders’ mothers) became a million dollar American design company!  Today, Vera Bradley has over 3500 retailers selling their many products to include travel duffels, totes, purses, wallets, cosmetic cases, jewelry cases, rolling luggage, eyeglass cases and many other accessories in quilted cotton with your favorite pattern.  I have found mine and maybe you have a favorite as well.  Once you fall in love with your favorite pattern, buy it quick, because it may retire and be hard to find later!  But don’t fret because new patterns are constantly produced and released four times a year during each season.  With all the patterns there are to choose from, it may be hard to pick just one!  Good luck!

Techical Difficulties

In the middle of a Designer Spotlight post for today, we have lost our WiFi connection and are being kicked out of the free internet room for the evening.  Ah, Asia!  Therefore, the next Wrinkled Chiffon post will be up Wednesday evening your time, Thursday morning mine!  See you then!
