Tonight, we are here…

Brussels is such an enchanting city.  Arriving here from Kuala Lumpur we have loved getting to know this quaint, magical city.  Staying a few blocks away from the Grand Place main square, we were able to take in the Grand Place just as the sun was setting.  It was beautiful!  Of course, we were enjoying a Brussels beer at the same time.  Hey, when in Brussels…

And what visit to Belgium is complete without eating a Belgium waffle?!  They are sold right on the streets – fresh, hot and loaded with any topping you want!  After sharing one of these babies we had no trouble falling to sleep after our long trip from Malaysia.

img_4817Today, we were able to venture out of the city a bit to see “Atomium”.  This structure originally built for the World Fair in Brussels in 1958 is still standing and has now become a major tourist destination when visiting Brussels.  Created to symbolize the “democratic will to maintain peace among all nations, faith in progress, both technical and scientific and, finally, an optimistic vision of the future of a modern, new, super-technological world for a better life of mankind”, Atomium is modeled after a crystallized molecule of iron magnified about 150 thousand million times.  We took an elevator to the top where we could view the city from afar and toured around the other spheres connected by escalators and staircases.

Next, we stopped at “Mini-Europe” located at the base of Atomium.  The Mini-Europe attraction is just as it’s named…a mini scale-model of about 80 European cities represented through over 300 buildings and structures.

Designer Spotlight-Coach Inc.

Founded in 1941 in a New York City loft, the brand Coach, Inc. has become somewhat of a everyday name in the fashion world.  Coach mainly specializes in small leather goods for women to include handbags and wallets.  However, they are also known for their shoes and accessories.  A few years ago I came across these amazing sandals surprisingly made by Coach.  While visiting Langkawi (posted here and here), I spent one night dressed up and ended up playing in the waves.  My Coach Teagan heels kept me stylish throughout the evening and even looked great sitting in the sand when it was time to go home.  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and thanks again for following!

In the rear view…

Today we started our day at the top of the Petronas Towers and ended our day waving goodbye to them through our car window. Today was our last day in Kuala Lumpur. Now we are sitting at the airport reminiscing about our time overseas and although we are happy to move on to our next adventure, it’s always so hard to say goodbye. I can’t wait to show you more pictures from our tour of the Petronas Towers and our last day here in KL. For now, we are off, but I have some great posts already to go for the rest of this week. I hope you can stop by tomorrow for Wednesday’s Designer Spotlight. Have a great Tuesday!
