Travel-Langkawi, Malaysia

Northwest of the city of Kuala Lumpur, adjacent to the border of Thailand, lies a cluster of islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Malaysia.  These islands make up Langkawi.  Over Memorial Day weekend we visited the main island and here are some of our photos…

During our first day, we decided to rent a moped and ride out to the famous Langkawi Sky Bridge.  To reach this bridge, you take a cable car up to the peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang, which overlooks what seems like the entire island!  The Langkawi Cable Car is one of the major attractions on the island and boasts to have the steepest cable car incline in the world!  I have to say, I definitely was a bit frightened during the ride.  But we arrived safely to the peak and thank goodness we were lucky to get a clear, sunny day!  It was just beautiful!!  Unfortunately, the sky bridge was closed for maintenance, but we enjoyed the views and the fresh, island air for atop.

Happy Birthday Wrinkled Chiffon!

Today marks my 275th post!  A year ago today, I wrote my first post – The Beginning – on Wrinkled Chiffon.  So please join me in celebrating a very special day for me…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WRINKLED CHIFFON!!!  

During this birthday month, as mentioned here and here, I’ve been working hard to give WC a bit of a freshening up.  Today, I’m happy to say that all updates have been made to each gallery and all pages!  One big change to the site was organizing all my photos into monthly folders.  So not only are My Style photos located in WORK, DAY and PLAY galleries, but now they are organized by each month.  And something really cool…when you click on each individual picture, it takes you back to the post and date when that WORK, DAY or PLAY style was originally posted!  I hope you enjoy the updates and please explore the site to review any and ALL of my posts within the past year.

Throughout this “freshing-up” of my blog, I’ve really begun to reflect upon this past year and how far Wrinkled Chiffon has come.  One thing I am truly proud of is the fact that I have not missed ONE SINGLE day (Monday through Friday) of posting.  Whether I was sick, on travel, busy with work, or without internet (which can be very common in SE Asia during thunderstorms), I never missed a day!  I’m also very proud of the adventures, whether they have been through fashion, travel or just life in general, that I have shared with you.  Within this past year, I’ve posted 53 Designer Spotlight posts (every Wednesday), over 50 Travel posts (every Thursday) and this Friday I will post number 35 of MY ONE HUNDRED series (posted each and every Friday)!  WOW, you have come a long way baby!  But all this work and dedication hasn’t come without the love, support, encouragement and kindness of my family, friends, fellow bloggers and followers of Wrinkled Chiffon.  You have no idea how much each and every comment, email or sweet word means to me.  What started out as something small has turned into so much more.  So thank you all from the bottom of my heart.  And I must give a special thank you to the other half of Wrinkled Chiffon – my photographer, proofreader and everyday shot of confidence and support – my amazing hubby!  Wrinkled Chiffon would not have come this far without you!

With that said, I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.  Thank you again for your support and I hope you continue along in my adventures on Wrinkled Chiffon!
