Spotted-Flannel Pajamas

Although I’m usually styling a WORK, DAY and PLAY style worn outside the house, today I’m featuring a PLAY style that is usually kept within the confines of my apartment – my flannel pajamas!  Flannel for me is such a necessity in my wardrobe…not only is it super comfy and soft, but flannel reminds me of growing up and cuddling with my mom in the winter against her flannel nightgown.  Even while living in a warmer climate (and what can get warmer than Malaysia?), I love throwing on my flannel pjs while relaxing and hanging around the house.  Mine especially come in handy on cold winter nights in DC, but for now, I enjoy wearing them with a t-shirt while working on my blog in the evenings.  I hope you have some comfy pjs that you love to throw on…maybe your favorite is flannel as well!

Enjoy today’s PLAY style and number 33 of MY ONE HUNDRED list – Flannel Pajamas.  Happy Friday!

Travel-U.S., Sleeping in a Wigwam

This week I’ve been super busy looking at hotels online (more details to come on this later).  With all my hotel searching, it got me thinking about all the hotels we have stayed in during our travels…and we have stayed in some crazy ones.  We have slept in a cave, in an igloo and even in a wigwam!  During our cross-country trip, we picked The Wigwam Motel to stay in for one night since it was labeled as one of the unique/crazy hotels to visit in the U.S.  We were driving through Arizona anyway, so why not?  From all the places we have traveled and all the hotels we have stayed in, this was definitely one hotel I will never forget.

Designer Spotlight-Uniqlo

“Welcome to Uniqlo!” is the phrase you will hear from a chorus of employees as you walk in the doors of the Uniqlo store here in Kuala Lumpur.  But not only will you hear it when you walk in, but whenever you see another employee, or when you walk down an aisle or when you walk up to the register or when you walk in the dressing room.  It’s definitely a warm and friendly place with constant smiles and welcomes.  Now when stopping in, my husband and I smile and say it back to them…which sometimes adds confusion, ha!  Our experience at Uniqlo has been a lot of fun while shopping in their flagship Malaysian store since it first opened in 2010.  Never hearing of Uniqlo before moving to Kuala Lumpur, I have found it to be a great place to shop for basics, casual wear and even work shirts.  So today, Uniqlo is this week’s Designer Spotlight!  Although Uniqlo isn’t a specific designer per say, it’s a Japanese company/casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer…all in one.  On days to the office when I feel like wearing a comfy top, I always turn to my Uniqlo cotton crew neck.  To dress it up for work, I add a pencil skirt, sometimes a big statement necklace and today a silk scarf.  Throw on some heels, grab your bag and it’s off to work.  Have a great Wednesday!
